Bacterial Allergies And The Effects On Your DogIdentify bacterial skin disease earlyBacterial allergies in dogs are commonly caused by a bacterium called Staphylococcus (Staph). If everything is in fine working order in your dog, this bacteria should not be a problem as it exists every where in certain amounts. If your dog's immune system is somehow compromised, (maybe by another allergy) it can develop adverse reactions to Staphylococcus.
If you notice red blotches with puss, and considerable hair loss on your dog's skin, or a skin formation resembling ringworm, your dog has probably developed bacterial allergies. Staph allergies should be treated right away. For immediate relief antibiotics are prescribed to control the problem. This is not a long term solution though as the infection will sometimes recur when the antibiotics are stopped. Your Veterinarian may want to culture the skin to determine what type of antiobiotic will be the most effective. Natural antiseptic shampoos (benzyl peroxide), and natural antibiotic ointments are also helpful in controlling the skin infection.

FYI
A Vets typical treatment of bacterial skin disease is to do a blood test to determine the type of bacteria that is present. He may then prescribe antibiotics such as Cephalexin along with a steroid cream and immune stimulant shots.CLICK HERE!If you need more information or help researching products.
